Performing in 2020 navy: military training is moving towards actual combat in a solid and in-depth manner

CCTV News:In 2020, the navy focused on mission training to prepare for war, and solidly carried out basic training based on ability and practical case training based on task. Military training has made deep progress in actual combat year by year, and it has developed by leaps and bounds to informationization. The winning ability and actual combat level of the troops have been significantly improved.

Recently, Shandong ship has conducted a series of experimental training in a certain sea area of Bohai Sea. This mission adopts the method of multi-module synchronous training, and specializes in subjects such as leaving the dock at night, sailing in narrow waterways, maritime search and rescue, and damage management in battle positions.

This is the cross-regional maneuver training of Liaoning carrier formation in May this year. The formation consisting of Liaoning ship and several escort ships sailed through the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea, the South China Sea and the West Pacific Ocean for more than a month, and carried out practical training in various subjects such as formation attack and defense, take-off and landing of J -15 carrier-based fighters, which effectively tested the overall combat capability of the aircraft carrier formation, and effectively improved the information countermeasures and electronic countermeasures capabilities in complex electromagnetic environment.

With the cross-regional maneuver training of Liaoning ship again and again, the training level of carrier-based aircraft has continuously made new breakthroughs, and the integration ability of ship and aircraft has achieved a new leap. At present, several J -15 carrier-based fighter pilots have obtained the qualification certification for boarding at night, becoming one of the few countries in the world to master the technology of taking off and landing at night for carrier-based fighter pilots.

In 2020, the newly-listed fleet of 10,000-ton destroyer Nanchang Ship, Chengdu Ship and Datong Ship conducted multi-disciplinary exercises such as attacking the sea, fighting against the sea, air defense and anti-missile, etc. In the continuous days of sea training, the ability of new ships to perform various combat tasks was effectively tested by setting difficult conditions, setting strong opponents, and training live ammunition on the shore day and night.

Focusing on innovative ways and means to improve the quality and efficiency of training is a useful exploration for the navy to promote the development of actual combat training at all levels in recent years. Not long ago, the naval air force in the Eastern Theater broke the free air combat training mode of the same type of aircraft, and organized two types and three generations of aircraft to conduct free air combat training on the same site for several days in a row, exploring a new training mode of two types and three generations of crew. By mixing aircraft types, we can give full play to the mechanical advantages of each aircraft type and maximize the combat effectiveness of formation. Since the adjustment and formation of the Marine Corps in 2017, taking the opportunity of cross-regional base training and actual combat training on the seashore, the Marine Corps has organized large-scale training for all posts in the whole system by means of mixed training, and has successively gone to training grounds in northern Myanmar, Weibei and western Guangdong for cross-regional actual combat training, which has greatly improved its ability to carry out combat missions in a larger space, a wider region and a more complex environment.

The naval forces have organized hundreds of actual combat drills such as sea assault, anti-submarine, amphibious, submarine rescue and other opportunities by taking advantage of escort in the open sea and combat readiness patrol. In mid-October this year, the 35th naval escort formation successfully completed the 170-day non-port escort mission. Basic training such as main and auxiliary gun shooting, light weapons shooting, damage control drills and practical training such as rescue of hijacked ships and cooperative anti-piracy between ships and aircraft were carried out, which tested the ability of the formation to carry out diversified tasks under complex conditions.

From basic training to real case training, from training to actual combat tasks, the People’s Navy has achieved remarkable results in various trainings. Since the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan", the naval forces have participated in more than 200 exercises, and divisions and brigades have conducted more than 3,000 mass training competitions, with more than 800,000 officers and men participating in the training. The training intensity, difficulty conditions, confrontation intensity and research depth of the troops have reached a new high.
