The inaugural meeting and the first academic forum on prevention of diseases of Beijing Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine were held in yuquan hospital, Tsinghua University

On July 23rd, the inaugural meeting of the Professional Committee of Beijing Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine was held in the lecture hall of yuquan hospital (Tsinghua University Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine) in Tsinghua University. The conference was hosted by Beijing Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and jointly undertaken by our hospital and Beijing Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. Tu Zhitao, director of Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, spoke by video. Xu Chunfeng, vice president of Beijing Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, president of Beijing Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and Liu Gang, secretary general of Beijing Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine attended the meeting. Tommy, a teacher from Beijing Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, presided over the meeting.

In his speech, Tu Zhitao pointed out that the establishment of the Beijing Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine (hereinafter referred to as the "Special Committee") is both an opportunity and a challenge. I hope that the Special Committee will base itself on the discipline law of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, grasp the differences from traditional Chinese medicine in treating diseases, make efforts to make academic breakthroughs, service model breakthroughs and talent breakthroughs in treating diseases with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, and promote "return", "reversal" and "breakthrough" with new ideas.

In the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine" of the General Office of the State Council, it is clearly stated that we should pay equal attention to both Chinese and Western medicine, enhance the ability of integrating Chinese and Western medicine, promote complementary advantages and jointly safeguard people’s health; Implement the health promotion action of traditional Chinese medicine and promote the upgrading of the health project of preventing diseases in traditional Chinese medicine. Since 2007, state administration of traditional chinese medicine has implemented the preventive health project throughout the country, aiming to further develop the characteristics and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in preventing diseases.

The establishment of the Special Committee is not only a positive measure to thoroughly implement the Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Promoting the Inheritance, Innovation and Development of Chinese Medicine, but also a practical action to conscientiously implement the Tenth Five-Year Plan for the Development of Chinese Medicine in Beijing (hereinafter referred to as the Plan). According to the work arrangement of Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the target requirements of the Plan, the special committee will promote the complementary advantages of western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine on the basis of the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese medicine theory, strive to improve the academic level and service ability of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in preventing diseases, promote the construction of scientific and technological innovation system of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in preventing diseases, and make greater contributions to promoting the development of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in preventing diseases and improving the health level of the whole people in the capital.

The General Assembly elected 130 members of the Special Committee and 33 members of the Standing Committee. Feng Xingzhong, vice president of our hospital and director of health management center, was elected as the chairman of the special Committee.

Feng Xingzhong said in his speech that the first special committee took the Planning as the goal and followed the work requirements of the Beijing Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and made it clear that it was necessary to give full play to the advantages of traditional Chinese and western medicine in disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, integrate modern science and technology, build an academic framework of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in preventing diseases, innovate the health service model of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in preventing diseases, and build a talent team of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in preventing diseases. At the same time, it is planned to promote the prevention and treatment of diseases with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine to embark on a new journey in the new era by formulating health service standards and health service plans for prevention and treatment with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, developing health service technologies for prevention and treatment with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, and carrying out health service promotion actions and health service evaluation.

After the conference, the first academic forum on prevention of disease with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine was held one after another. Cao Yu, vice chairman and secretary general of the special committee and director of the Department of Preventive Medicine of Beijing Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, presided over the forum.

Zhang Taojing, vice chairman of the special committee and vice president of Oriental Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and Ti Gui Xiang, director of the Department of Prevention and Treatment of Diseases in Guang ‘anmen Hospital of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and other experts and scholars made academic reports on the inheritance and development of Chinese medicine, the complementary and integration of advantages of Chinese and Western medicine, and the sustainable development of the industry of prevention and treatment of diseases in Chinese medicine, and conducted multi-dimensional in-depth exchanges. Wang Guoqing, a researcher of Academician Cheng Jing from Tsinghua University, introduced Tsinghua University’s wisdom and preventive treatment technology in the field of preventive treatment. Li Buman, executive vice chairman of the special committee and director of preventive medicine department of our hospital, made a summary of the forum.

More than 3,000 colleagues participated in conferences and forums through a combination of online and offline.
