The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the sanctions imposed by the European Union, the United States, Britain and Canada: it will eventually pay for its stupidity and arrogance.

On March 23rd, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying held a regular press conference. A reporter asked: On the 22nd, the European Union, Britain and Canada announced unilateral sanctions against relevant individuals and entities on the pretext of the so-called human rights issue in Xinjiang. On the same day, the United States announced sanctions against two Chinese Xinjiang government officials, claiming to be a supplement to the sanctions imposed by Europe, Britain and Canada. The foreign ministers of the United States, Britain and Canada issued a joint statement to put pressure on all parties. What is China’s response to this?

Hua Chunying said that the United States, Canada, Britain and the European Union imposed sanctions on people and institutions in China and Xinjiang on the grounds of human rights based on lies and false information, and China strongly condemned them. The head of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the EU and British ambassadors to China respectively to make solemn representations. Last night, China made clear its solemn position for the first time and announced sanctions against relevant European institutions and personnel. China has also made solemn representations to the US and Canada.

In the past 40 years, the population of Uighurs in Xinjiang has increased from 5.5 million to 12.8 million, and the average life expectancy has increased from 30 to 72 years. People of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, including Uighurs, enjoy all rights conferred by the Constitution and laws of China according to law. The people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, China enjoy stability, security, development and progress, which is one of the most successful human rights stories.

However, some politicians in the United States, Britain and the European Union are obviously unwilling to admit this fact. They have gained a great deal from the so-called "evidence" maliciously fabricated by some anti-China politicians and so-called scholars, completely ignoring that the so-called "facts" pieced together are completely based on false so-called "internal documents", "victims’ statements" and information with unknown sources, and even taking official documents and data of China out of context and distorting them. These can only prove that what they care about is not human rights at all and what they care about is not the truth at all. They don’t want to see the success and development of China, and they don’t want to see the people of China live a better and better life, so they interfere in China’s internal affairs under the pretext of human rights and try to curb the development of China. What they did was a slander and affront to the reputation and dignity of the people of China, a blatant interference in China’s internal affairs and a serious violation of China’s sovereignty and security interests.

It must be pointed out that these countries call themselves human rights "judges" and act as human rights teachers, but they have their own bad records on human rights issues. They are not qualified to blame China, or even impose their crimes and evils on China.

Hua Chunying pointed out that during the 400-year-long slave trade, American, British, French and other colonists transported more than 12 million people from Africa to America as slaves, and another 10 million people died in the transportation. In America today, Freudians still can’t breathe. The United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination has long pointed out that in the United States and Britain, African-Americans face systematic racism in health, employment, education and fair trial.

As early as the beginning of the 20th century, German colonialists massacred the indigenous people in Namibia, Africa. From 1904 to 1908, German colonial forces killed more than 100,000 indigenous people, including three quarters of the Herrero population and more than half of the Nama population. It was called "the first genocide of the 20th century" by the report of the Commission on Human Rights of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. During World War II, the German Nazis massacred nearly 6 million Jews, including more than 1 million children. The United States, Britain and their allies violated the Geneva Convention in Afghanistan and brutally killed innocent civilians, committing serious war crimes and crimes against humanity.

French troops slaughtered 5.5 million people in Algeria during the colonial period, which constituted a crime against humanity. The Algerian president said that Algeria will not sacrifice history and memory.

In the 1970s, the Canadian government put the assimilation of aborigines on the official agenda, publicly proclaimed that "killing Indian descent begins with their children", and implemented the policy of cultural extinction for aborigines by setting up boarding schools. According to incomplete statistics, more than 150,000 aboriginal children were forced to be sent to school, and more than 50,000 of them died of abuse.

We all remember that when the United States and Britain used a bag of washing powder and posing videos as evidence, they launched wars against two sovereign countries, Iraq and Syria, causing countless innocent civilian casualties and countless families separated and displaced. The 10th anniversary of the Syrian crisis this year. In Syria alone, 350,000 people have died in the war and their families have been destroyed. Shouldn’t they be sanctioned?

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of Libya’s civil war. France, Britain, the European Union and other countries launched the Libyan war and created a large-scale humanitarian disaster, which is the evil source of the current refugee problem and an important factor in regional turmoil. Today, 400,000 people are still displaced in Libya, and more than 1 million people are in urgent need of help. Shouldn’t they be held accountable?

These countries not only have no remorse for their export turmoil, but also impose unilateral sanctions on other countries in the name of human rights, seriously damaging the people’s rights to life, health and development in the countries concerned. Faced with the epidemic, these most developed countries ignored the people’s right to life and health, allowing tens of thousands of people to die. Pursue "vaccine nationalism" and hoard a large number of COVID-19 vaccines far exceeding the needs of its population, resulting in no vaccines available in developing countries.

We can’t help asking, if people don’t exist, how will power be attached? The United States and the West keep saying that they protect human rights. Who are they protecting? What is the right to protect? How do they show respect and protection for human rights? Shouldn’t they be ashamed?

Hua Chunying emphasized that history and facts show that these countries want to be human rights teachers, but they simply don’t deserve it. They are neither saints nor powerful. I hope they understand that China today is not Iraqi, Libyan, Syrian or China 120 years ago. Gone are the days when foreign powers could open the door to China with a few cannons, and the days when a few so-called scholars and media colluded with the government to attack China without any punishment.

Advise them not to underestimate the firm will of the people of China to safeguard national interests and national dignity. Come without disrespect, and they will eventually pay for their stupidity and arrogance (CCTV reporter Zhu Ruomeng Yang Yi)
